Prashant Kishor Announces 10,000-Job Plan for Unemployed Youth in Bankipur

Patna: Jan Suraaj Party leader and newly elected Bankipur MLA Prashant Kishor has promised to help at least 10,000 unemployed youths secure private-sector jobs within the next one to two years, making employment his first major constituency-level initiative after his electoral victory.

During his first visit to Bankipur after the bypoll win, Kishor appealed to families to send the CVs and biodata of educated but unemployed youngsters to his office. He said he would use his network of contacts across different sectors to connect local youths with employment opportunities.

Kishor made it clear that he was not promising government jobs, but would focus on facilitating private-sector employment. He said young people might initially have to move outside Bihar for work, while a larger goal would be to create more employment opportunities within the state.

Responding to criticism over his absence from the constituency after the election, Kishor said, “I am not travelling anywhere. I am working for you.” He said the employment initiative was aimed at providing immediate opportunities to local families rather than waiting for broader political changes.

Kishor also said that if Jan Suraaj comes to power in Bihar, generating local employment and reducing the need for youth migration would be among the party’s priorities. His Bankipur agenda also includes improving education facilities, a ₹1,100 monthly pension scheme and ensuring foodgrain availability for residents.

The pledge comes soon after Kishor’s victory in the Bankipur bypoll, where he ended the BJP’s long-standing hold over the constituency. Bankipur had remained a BJP stronghold for decades, making his victory a significant political breakthrough for the Jan Suraaj Party.

For now, Kishor’s 10,000-job target puts the spotlight firmly on how quickly his political promise can translate into actual employment opportunities for Bankipur’s educated unemployed youth.
