Ghaziabad : In a stunning bust, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has uncovered a fake embassy being run from a plush bungalow in Ghaziabad’s upscale Kavinagar colony. The operation was exposed during a raid conducted by the STF’s Noida unit, leading to the arrest of a man posing as an ambassador of fictional countries.

The accused, Harsh Vardhan Jain, had been operating the sham embassy for years, masquerading as the “Ambassador of West Arctica,” along with claiming diplomatic ties to other made-up nations like Saborga, Poulvia, and Lodonia. He ran his fraudulent setup from a lavishly rented residence under the banner “Embassy of West Arctica.”

During the raid, STF officials seized a staggering haul that included:

  • 4 luxury cars with fake diplomatic number plates
  • 12 counterfeit diplomatic passports
  • 34 forged seals and stamps of foreign nations and Indian ministries
  • Fake press and PAN cards
  • ₹44.7 lakh in cash, foreign currency
  • 18 forged diplomatic license plates

Officials also found that Jain used morphed photos with top Indian leaders, including the Prime Minister and President, to lure victims with false promises of overseas jobs and diplomatic perks. His social media presence and websites were used to project a fabricated persona of international stature.

Investigations revealed that Jain acted as a middleman for foreign employment, issued forged documents, and was involved in hawala transactions through shell companies. Notably, this is not his first brush with the law—he was previously booked in 2011 for illegally possessing a satellite phone.

A fresh FIR has been lodged at Kavinagar police station, and Jain is currently under intense interrogation as officials dig deeper into what they suspect could be part of a larger international fraud network.
