Bokaro: A literary gathering organised by Sahityalok saw the release of the book ‘Om Mahabharat at Sahityak Shikhar’, based on the acclaimed Maithili epic ‘Om Mahabharat’ penned by Buddhinath Jha. The event took place on Sunday at Jha’s residence in Chira Chas.

Presided over by senior writer Sukh Nandan Singh ‘Sadya’ and conducted by Sahityalok convener Aman Kumar Jha, the session began with a Shanti Paath by Himanshu Shekhar Jha and Aradhya Jha, followed by floral tributes to Maa Saraswati.

The book, edited by Chandra Mohan Karna and Shailendra Kumar Jha, includes essays from 29 scholars and was jointly released by prominent literary figures including Balram Chaudhary, Sanjay Kumar Jha, Dr. Nirupama Jha, Arun Pathak, and others.

A Kavi Goshthi followed the launch, where poets recited verses in Hindi and Maithili. Highlights included patriotic songs, devotional pieces, and poetry on women’s voices, nature, and culture. Buddhinath Jha recited a piece from the Mahabharat, while Sukh Nandan Singh’s poem ‘Bokaro Pratishthan’ drew particular appreciation.

Speakers praised Sahityalok’s consistent efforts to promote literature in Bokaro. Balram Chaudhary expressed his delight at participating, while Singh hailed Om Mahabharat as a monumental contribution to Maithili literature. Advocate Vishwanath Jha delivered the vote of thanks.
