Bokaro: The steel city of Bokaro came alive with excitement and celebrations as it ushered in the English New Year. Crowds of people gathered at temples, parks, and other popular spots, reflecting the community’s festive spirit.

The celebrations began on the evening of December 31st, with locals eagerly preparing for the New Year by purchasing cakes, sweets, and other festive treats. As the clock struck midnight, people across the city celebrated by cutting cakes, lighting lamps, and offering prayers. Social media and mobile phones buzzed with New Year greetings exchanged among friends and family.

On New Year’s Day, worshippers flocked to major temples for blessings, with prominent places of worship such as Shri Ram Mandir in Sector 1, Shri Ram Vivekanand Complex, Jagannath Mandir in Sector 4, Surya Mandir, Hari Mandir, Kali Mandirs in Sector 2 and 4G, Gayatri Mandir in Sector 9, Baba Niranjan Nath Shiv Mandir, Sai Mandir, and Sri Ayyappa Mandir in Sector 5 drawing large crowds.

The city’s parks were also a major attraction, with Jawaharlal Nehru Biological Park in Sector 4 seeing a particularly large turnout. Visitors were seen enjoying picnics at City Park and other picnic spots around the city. Restaurants and hotels were filled with celebratory diners, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The local police and administration were praised for their vigilance and commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the celebrations. Bokaro Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav had issued instructions for heightened surveillance at popular picnic spots and near water bodies, delegating special responsibility to Chas SDO Pranjal Dhanda and Bermo SDO Mukesh Machhua to ensure safety during the New Year festivities.
