Mumbai: JD Institute of Fashion Technology is expanding its global footprint through strategic partnerships with leading international institutions and creative platforms, including the University of South Wales, NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, the University for the Creative Arts, MYTH and Global Fashion Incubator (GFI).

The collaborations aim to give students access to international academic exposure, industry engagement and opportunities to showcase their creative talent on global platforms.

The academic partnerships will promote knowledge exchange and introduce students to international design practices, emerging trends and industry standards. A major highlight is the association with Global Fashion Incubator, which will connect students with leading fashion events and professional networks worldwide.

Through GFI’s Global Intern programme, students will have opportunities to gain behind-the-scenes experience at New York, London, Milan, Paris, Dubai and Tokyo Fashion Weeks. The initiative will provide practical exposure to fashion shows, production processes, designers and industry professionals.

Other opportunities include GFI’s Graduate Runway, offering students and alumni a platform to showcase capsule collections during Paris Fashion Week, and Global Design Immersion Programmes covering major events such as Milan Furniture Fair, Dubai Design Week, Paris Design Week and London Design Festival.

Rinesh Dalal, Director of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, said the partnerships are intended to bridge the gap between classroom education and global industry experience. He emphasised that design education must prepare students for opportunities beyond geographical boundaries and enable emerging Indian designers to participate in international creative ecosystems.

Özgecan Üstgül, Founder and CEO of MYTH AI, said the collaboration would encourage young designers to explore new ideas, push creative boundaries and contribute to the future of the design industry.

Founded on the vision of Yogesh Dalal and Dr. Payal Dalal, JD Institute aims to strengthen its international education network and prepare students for careers in an increasingly interconnected global design industry.
