News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday departed for a two-day State visit to Israel at the invitation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, aiming to deepen the already robust India–Israel strategic partnership.

This marks Modi’s second visit to Israel and comes with a packed diplomatic agenda focused on expanding cooperation across critical sectors.

Focus on Technology, Defence and Agriculture

Ahead of his departure, Modi said he is looking forward to advancing collaboration in key areas including science and technology, innovation, agriculture, water management, defence and security, trade and investment, and people-to-people exchanges.

During the visit, the two leaders will review progress made under the India–Israel Strategic Partnership and explore new avenues of cooperation in emerging and traditional sectors.

Historic Address to Israeli Parliament

In a significant highlight, Modi is scheduled to address the Israeli Parliament — the Knesset — becoming the first Indian leader to do so, according to India’s Ambassador to Israel J.P. Singh.

The leaders are also expected to exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest.

Meeting with Israeli President

On the second day of the visit, Modi will call on Israeli President Isaac Herzog, further underlining the high-level diplomatic engagement between the two nations.

MEA: Visit to Add Momentum to Ties

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the visit will reaffirm the deep and long-standing strategic partnership between India and Israel and help align efforts toward a stronger future collaboration.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal described the relationship as “warm and forward-looking,” adding that the Prime Minister’s visit carries a substantive agenda and is expected to give fresh momentum to bilateral ties between the two resilient democracies.
