New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has pushed forward key deadlines for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls across 12 States and Union Territories. Under the revised schedule, the enumeration process will now continue until December 11, giving authorities additional time to verify and update voter data.

The Commission further announced that the draft electoral rolls will be published on December 16, followed by the final electoral rolls slated for release on February 14 next year, ahead of the upcoming election cycle.

The revision exercise spans a wide geographical spectrum, covering Uttar Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal, with officials pushing for maximum accuracy and voter-list integrity.
