ANS: In honor of Hindi Diwas, NorthCap University (NCU) organized a special Book Exhibition focused on Hindi literature. Held on 13th September 2024, the event celebrated the cultural significance and diversity of India’s official language.

Hindi Diwas, observed annually on 14th September, commemorates the adoption of Hindi as the official language of India by the Constituent Assembly on this date in 1949. This day serves to highlight the importance of Hindi while respecting India’s rich multilingual heritage.

Dr. Anil Kumar Jharotia, NCU’s librarian, informed students and faculty about the exhibition, which drew considerable interest from both groups. The library showcased its extensive collection of Hindi books, providing an opportunity for attendees to explore and engage with Hindi literature.

The exhibition highlighted the significance of Hindi as enshrined in Articles 343 to 351 of the Indian Constitution. As part of the celebration, students and faculty delved into various Hindi books, reflecting on the language’s role and impact.

Hindi Diwas, also known as Hindi Day, serves as a reminder of the language’s integral place in India’s cultural and historical landscape.
