Karaj Bridge Hit in US–Israel Strike; Donald Trump Warns Iran ‘Act Before It’s Too Late’

News Desk: In a sharp escalation of hostilities, joint strikes by the United States and Israel have partially destroyed a major bridge under construction near Karaj, just west of Tehran. Multiple injuries have been reported, as tensions between the two sides continue to spiral.

The targeted structure, known as the B1 Karaj bridge, was a key infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity between Tehran and Karaj. Rising to an estimated height of 136 metres, it was considered one of the region’s most ambitious transport developments.

Videos circulating online showed thick plumes of smoke engulfing the site, followed by dramatic sections of the bridge collapsing after the impact.

Iranian state television claimed the site was struck multiple times. According to official reports, the initial attack resulted in civilian casualties, while a second strike allegedly hit the area as emergency responders were already on the ground assisting the injured. Authorities in Tehran condemned the assault, blaming what they described as the “American-Zionist enemy.”

Trump Signals More Strikes

Reacting to the developments, former US President Donald Trump posted visuals of the attack on Truth Social, declaring that “the biggest bridge in Iran” had been brought down and warning that further action could follow.

He also issued a direct message to Tehran, urging it to strike a deal “before it is too late.”

Earlier, Trump asserted that recent US military actions had significantly degraded Iran’s defence capabilities. He hinted that operations could intensify in the coming weeks, potentially expanding to strategic assets such as power infrastructure.

Conflict Expands to Critical Infrastructure

The strike signals a dangerous shift in the ongoing confrontation between Iran and the US–Israel alliance, with critical infrastructure increasingly coming under attack.

While Washington has framed the operations as necessary to achieve strategic military objectives, Tehran has strongly denounced them as deliberate assaults on civilian infrastructure, raising concerns over a broader regional fallout.
