Bokaro: The Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) has launched a new initiative to promote self-employment among displaced families by inviting applications for the allotment of 96 newly constructed and vacant shops across different sectors of Bokaro Steel City.

The allotment process is being carried out by the Town Administration (LRA) department and will be reserved exclusively for eligible displaced persons. The available outlets include Neighborhood Shops (NH), Low-Cost Shops (LCS) and paan–cigarette kiosks.

Officials said the shops will be allotted through a transparent lottery system for an initial licence period of 11 months, with the possibility of renewal later.

Application forms can be collected from the Town Administration (LRA) office at Nagar Seva Bhawan between March 23 and April 1, 2026, by paying a fee of ₹500 plus GST.

Completed forms along with required documents must be submitted at the same office from April 2 to April 6, 2026 (10 AM–5 PM). Only applicants possessing valid DPLR or BSL registration certificates will be eligible for the scheme.

The initiative aims to provide displaced residents with business opportunities and strengthen economic self-reliance among families affected by earlier development projects in Bokaro.
