News Desk: President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian cricket team for their remarkable achievement after India clinched a historic third ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title with a commanding victory over New Zealand in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

India produced a dominant performance in the title clash, defeating New Zealand by 96 runs. Batting first, the Suryakumar Yadav-led Men in Blue piled up a massive total of 255 runs, setting a daunting target for the Kiwis. In reply, New Zealand faltered under pressure and were bowled out for 159 runs in 19 overs.

India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah delivered a match-winning spell, claiming four wickets to dismantle the New Zealand batting line-up. His outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Match award.

Congratulating the team, President Droupadi Murmu said India now holds the rare distinction of being the only country to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup three times, including back-to-back titles. She said the victory has brought immense joy and pride to millions of cricket lovers and reflects the rich talent pool among India’s youth. The President also praised the players, management and support staff for their collective effort behind the memorable triumph.

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan described the victory as a historic moment for Indian cricket, noting that India has become the first team to lift the T20 World Cup three times. He congratulated the players, support staff and millions of fans whose unwavering support helped propel the team to glory.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also hailed the victory, saying the triumph reflects the power of determination, discipline and self-confidence. Sharing a Sanskrit verse in his message, the Prime Minister remarked that dedicated effort in the right direction can help achieve even the most ambitious goals and urged citizens to continue pursuing their aspirations with commitment.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also lauded the team, saying their exceptional performance and fighting spirit throughout the tournament have brought immense pride and glory to the nation.

With the emphatic win, India has further cemented its dominance in the shortest format of cricket, sparking celebrations among fans across the country.
