Patna: The seventh edition of the Saras Salil Bhojpuri Cine Awards is set to take place in Patna on March 15, bringing together leading stars and filmmakers of the Bhojpuri film industry for a grand awards night. The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. at the historic Bapu Auditorium, where awards will be presented across 60 categories.

Organisers say the event is being planned on a larger scale this year, promising a colourful celebration of Bhojpuri cinema with cultural performances, live music and a star-studded gathering of industry personalities.

Bhanu Prakash Rana, in-charge of Saras Salil, said nominations for films and artists have been finalised by a jury panel and winners will be honoured during the ceremony. The evening will feature vibrant cultural presentations and entertainment segments designed to enhance the audience experience.

According to organising committee member Brihaspati Kumar Pandey, the awards have been structured to reflect the evolving digital landscape. This year, honours will be presented in three major segments — theatrical releases, OTT platforms, and YouTube/TV content.

Launched in 2020, the awards have previously been hosted in cities including Ayodhya, Basti, and Lucknow. The sixth edition, held last year at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow, honoured artists in more than 50 categories.

Over the years, the awards have recognised several prominent Bhojpuri film personalities, including Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’, Arvind Akela ‘Kallu’, Pradeep Pandey ‘Chintu’, Amrapali Dubey, Anjana Singh, Richa Dixit, Awdhesh Mishra, and Raksha Gupta, among many others.

Organisers say the awards aim to encourage artists and technicians of Bhojpuri cinema while giving wider recognition to regional films. Film enthusiasts and audiences have been invited to attend the event and be part of the cultural celebration.
