New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the India AI Impact Expo at Bharat Mandapam, signalling India’s growing ambition to lead the global artificial intelligence revolution. The Prime Minister toured key exhibition stalls, accompanied by Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister of State Jitin Prasada.

The India AI Impact Expo 2026, running till February 20 alongside the India AI Impact Summit, is being projected as a powerful showcase of “AI in action” — where policy meets practice and innovation scales for real-world impact.

The accompanying India AI Impact Summit 2026 also kicked off today, marking the first time a global AI gathering of this magnitude is being hosted in the Global South. Prime Minister Modi will deliver the summit’s keynote address on February 19, expected to outline India’s vision for inclusive, responsible AI and stronger global cooperation.

Positioning AI as a core engine of India’s development push, the government says the technology will play a pivotal role in smarter governance and next-generation public service delivery under the Viksit Bharat@2047 roadmap.

Spread across 10 arenas covering over 70,000 square metres, the Expo has drawn global tech majors, startups, academia, research bodies, Union ministries, state governments, and international collaborators.

A key attraction is the presence of 13 country pavilions — including Australia, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan and African partners — highlighting deepening international AI cooperation.

The Expo features more than 300 curated pavilions and live demos organised around three themes — People, Planet and Progress. Over 600 high-potential startups are showcasing scalable AI solutions, many already deployed on the ground, underscoring India’s fast-emerging AI innovation ecosystem.
