New Delhi: As India prepares to open the India AI Impact Summit 2026, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has unveiled an ambitious nationwide campaign aimed at setting a Guinness World Record.

Under the IndiaAI Mission and in partnership with Intel India, the government will launch a 24-hour drive titled “Most pledges received for an AI Responsibility campaign.” The initiative seeks to mobilise citizens across the country to commit to ethical, inclusive and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence.

Officials say the campaign is designed to reinforce India’s push for a trustworthy, human-centric AI ecosystem. Participants will engage through an interactive digital platform featuring scenario-based questions that encourage reflection on responsible AI practices before submitting the pledge. On completion, users will receive a joint digital honorary badge from IndiaAI and Intel India, along with curated AI learning resources.

The process has been kept simple and widely accessible — requiring only registration, OTP verification and completion of short awareness questions. There are no eligibility barriers, qualifying marks or requirements for microphone or camera access.

The campaign targets broad participation from students, educators, parents, government officials, industry professionals, startups and the general public, with a special focus on youth awareness around data privacy, accountability and misinformation.

Summit Begins February 16

The pledge drive forms a key citizen-engagement pillar of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled from February 16–20 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the event.

Billed as the first major global AI summit hosted in the Global South, the five-day gathering will see leaders from 20 countries in attendance, including France’s Emmanuel Macron, Brazil’s Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Spain’s Pedro Sánchez, Switzerland’s Guy Parmelin and Netherlands Prime Minister Dick Schoof, among others. Ministerial delegations from more than 45 nations and senior UN officials are also expected.

Guided by the three core pillars — People, Planet and Progress — the summit will deliberate on seven thematic “Chakras,” covering areas such as human capital, trusted AI, innovation, resilience and AI for social good.

With over two lakh registrations already recorded and participation from across the globe, India is positioning the summit as a decisive step from AI dialogue to real-world delivery — and the record-breaking pledge drive is set to be its most visible public engagement push yet.
