Ayodhya: Security around the Ram Mandir is set to be significantly upgraded with the construction of a four-kilometre-long high-security boundary wall, aimed at making the temple complex virtually impenetrable.

Chairman of the Shri Ram Mandir Nirman Samiti, Nripendra Mishra, said the work on the boundary wall has already begun and will be equipped with state-of-the-art surveillance and monitoring systems to ensure round-the-clock security of the temple premises.

According to Mishra, the wall will integrate advanced technological features, including modern sensors and security equipment, to monitor movement and prevent any potential breach. “The security architecture of the Ram Mandir is being designed to be completely foolproof,” he said.

As part of the expanded security plan, four high-tech watch towers will also be constructed at strategic locations within the temple complex. These towers will be fitted with modern surveillance systems to provide enhanced visibility and rapid response capabilities.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust said the boundary wall is not only a security measure but also part of efforts to develop the temple complex as a well-organised and globally benchmarked religious site, in line with its growing footfall and international prominence.

The project is estimated to cost ₹80–90 crore, reflecting the scale and technological sophistication of the security infrastructure being put in place. The responsibility for executing the construction has been entrusted to Engineers India Limited, a central public sector enterprise known for handling large-scale infrastructure projects.

With millions of devotees expected to visit Ayodhya annually following the consecration of the Ram Mandir, authorities say the enhanced security framework is crucial to ensuring the safety of pilgrims while preserving the sanctity of one of India’s most significant religious landmarks.
