India Strengthens Eastern Border: 3 New Army Garrisons Along Chicken’s Neck Corridor

Indian Army has established three new military garrisons along the sensitive “Chicken’s Neck” corridor — including the Lachit Borphukan Military Station in Assam’s Dhubri and forward bases in Bihar and West Bengal. The move strengthens India’s eastern defences near the Bangladesh border, ensuring rapid response and enhanced surveillance across the strategic Siliguri Corridor.

FM Lays Foundation Stone for Assam’s 1st Technical & Vocational University

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman laid the foundation stone for Assam’s first technical and vocational university in Biswanath. The Swahid Kanaklata Barua State University will offer cutting-edge courses in AI, cybersecurity, blockchain, drones, quantum computing, and IoT, strengthening skill-based education in the Northeast. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was present at the ceremony.
