Bokaro: The Shyama Mai Temple in Sector 2D, Mithila Chowk, came alive with devotion and music as the two-day Kali Puja festival, organized by Maithili Kala Manch Kali Puja Trust, concluded with an array of soulful performances.

Local and guest artists captivated the audience with devotional songs dedicated to Goddess Kali. Young Madhubani artist Govind Jha set the tone with Kali Vandana and Shiva Ke Nachari, while Sakshi Ranjan, daughter of noted tabla maestro Dr. Rakesh Ranjan, rendered Kanth Baso Maharani and other bhajans with finesse. Anchal Pathak, a DPS Bokaro student, impressed all with her emotional rendition of Mata Kali He Kahiyo Hamro Par Hoiyou Ne Sahay.

Senior musician Pt. Bachchanji Maharaj received thunderous applause for his classical-based Bhavani Dayani…, displaying masterful command over raga and emotion.

The evening also featured melodious performances by Umesh Jha, Milan Goswami, Hareknath Goswami, Vishwanath Goswami, and Karishma Prasad, supported by instrumentalists Harshit Jha, Rohit, Aryan, and others. The program was anchored by Umesh Kumar Jha.

Among the attendees were SAIL’s Chief GM (HR) Hari Mohan Jha, Mithila Cultural Council’s General Secretary Neeraj Chaudhary, Maithili Kala Manch President Krishna Chandra Jha, and several other dignitaries, litterateurs, and devotees who filled the temple courtyard with devotion and applause.

The two-day celebration seamlessly blended spirituality, art, and culture—reflecting Mithila’s enduring devotional heritage.
