New Delhi: Afghanistan’s acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi on Friday asserted that his government has “wiped out all terrorist organisations” operating from Afghan soil — including Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) — and urged Pakistan to take similar action for regional peace.

“Not a single one of them is in Afghanistan. Not an inch of land is controlled by them,” Muttaqi told, insisting that the Taliban-led administration has eliminated all terror sanctuaries since taking power in 2021.

Delivering a veiled message to Islamabad from Indian soil, he said, “Let other countries also act against such terror groups as Afghanistan did, for peace.”

‘Pakistan Must Stop Playing Games’

Responding to queries on a recent blast along the Afghanistan–Pakistan border, Muttaqi blamed Islamabad for the incident, calling it “a wrong act.” He added, “Problems cannot be solved like this. We are open to dialogue.”

Emphasising Afghanistan’s newfound stability, he declared, “After 40 years, Afghanistan has achieved peace. No one should have a problem with that. Those who wish to trouble us should ask the Soviet Union, America, and NATO what happens when someone tests Afghanistan.”

India Restores Full Diplomatic Ties

Muttaqi’s visit coincides with India’s decision to fully restore diplomatic relations with Kabul. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar announced that New Delhi will upgrade its Technical Mission in Kabul into a full-fledged embassy, reaffirming India’s commitment to Afghanistan’s “stability and progress.”

Praise for India, Message of Friendship

The Taliban minister thanked India for being the first country to send humanitarian aid after the recent earthquake, calling it a “close friend.” He said Kabul seeks “relations based on mutual respect, trade, and people-to-people exchanges.”

“We are ready to create a consultative mechanism to strengthen our ties,” Muttaqi said, proposing joint India-Afghanistan-US talks to expand regional trade.

He concluded by stressing the importance of open trade routes: “If trade routes close, both our nations suffer. Afghanistan wants peace, not problems.”
