Bokaro: A musical evening was organized in Sector 12 on Wednesday to mark the birth anniversaries of iconic playback singer Mohd. Rafi and renowned music composer Naushad. The event, hosted by the Swaragini Musical Group, brought together music lovers and artists to pay tribute to these legends of the Indian music industry.

Prominent figures including famous singer Arun Pathak, Shashikant, a singer and music teacher at Kendriya Vidyalaya, New Delhi, Rajesh Sinha, a senior manager at Bank of India, singer Raman Choudhary, Ragini Sinha Ambasht, along with music enthusiasts Neeraj Singh and Amarnath Jha, paid their respects by offering flowers to the portraits of Mohd. Rafi and Naushad.

Arun Pathak highlighted that 2024 marks the centenary year of Mohd. Rafi, with his 100th birth anniversary celebrated on December 24. Pathak praised Rafi’s unmatched contribution to film music, emphasizing that his voice will forever be remembered with respect. He also acknowledged Naushad’s invaluable role in elevating the prestige of film music through his compositions.

Raman Choudhary expressed that the timeless songs of Mohd. Rafi will continue to be cherished by generations. Shashikant remarked on Naushad’s significant impact, particularly his mastery in creating melodies based on classical ragas that gave film music a distinct place in the cultural landscape.

Ragini Sinha Ambasht shared that she, like many others, is a devoted fan of Rafi’s incomparable singing, while Rajesh Sinha spoke about how Rafi’s voice made every type of song melodious. Neeraj Singh noted that Rafi’s songs have become an inseparable part of the hearts of music lovers, and Amarnath Jha concluded by acknowledging that Rafi’s voice played a major role in making film music popular among the masses.

The event served as a heartfelt tribute to the two musical giants, whose contributions continue to resonate in the world of Indian cinema.
