Ranchi: The state capital turned into a lively stage of rhythm and colors on Wednesday as Ranchi celebrated the Silver Jubilee of Jharkhand’s Statehood Day with a spectacular display of traditional “Street Dance” performances at several key locations across the city.

Organized jointly by the Ranchi District Administration and the Information & Public Relations Department, the event aimed to showcase Jharkhand’s rich folk heritage and promote public participation in the 25th Statehood Day celebrations.

From 3 PM to 5 PM, Ranchi’s major intersections — including Karamtoli Chowk, Firyalal Chowk, Rajendra Chowk, Birsa Chowk, Dhurwa Roundabout, Morabadi Park, Airport area, and Khelgaon — reverberated with the sounds of dhol, nagada, mandar, and cymbals as local artists performed Nagpuri, Santhali, Ho, and Kurukh folk dances.

Dressed in vibrant traditional attire, the artists brought the streets alive, turning the city into a carnival of music, movement, and cultural pride. The “Street Dance” program reflected the essence of Jharkhand’s tribal and folk traditions, transforming public spaces into open-air cultural arenas.

Citizens, cultural groups, and local performers participated enthusiastically, hailing the initiative as a symbol of Jharkhand’s unity in diversity. Many described the event as a beautiful celebration of identity, pride, and community spirit.

The celebration, officials said, not only paid homage to Jharkhand’s 25-year journey but also reaffirmed its commitment to preserving and promoting indigenous culture for future generations.
